Quite possibly my favourite series of books of all time. I feel that the ending was weak though. He should revisit the series and write more, focusing around a different character. A new Rider coming into the new world being made. |

Weak?! WEAK?! Oh, my friend, that ending is MANY things, but WEAK isn't the word I'd use to describe it. |

I would. I'm figuring the way the ended the king's life. It was weak :/ It was built up to be some great battle, and then he just... Well, he doesn't even give us a satisfying fight. I dunno. It was just what I thought about it. My stepdad agreed with me after reading it, and so did some of my friends. I guess I just felt that the massive build-up over the entire series sort of went to waste with the way it was ended. |

Naw, that one sorta made sense. He needed to raise the dragons away from danger, and he was too powerful to stick around really. He didn't want to be caught under that new rule thing for magicians that Nasuada was talking about. |

Yes, but sodding off into foreign territory could have been just as dangerous as staying there, if not more so. He would not know what kind of ***** he would have to face. Plus if he didn't leave he would have benefits from the other two Dragon Riders when raising the dragons. |

That's true, but you need to remember Murtagh's reluctance to get involved with anything like that. And he was prophesied to leave anyway. I'm not saying I was satisfied with that ending or anything, though. |

Murtagh wouldn't have necessarily needed to help raising dragons to help Eragon, and I imagine Arya would have been more that happy to help. Prophecy would have only been fulfilled if Eragon never returned, which no explanation was given in the series for occurring, so I would have assumed he would have come back anyway. He simply had too much ties in Alagaesia. In short, I agree the ending was disappointing. |
